Pictures of my girls
Alyssa’s school pictures this year came back even worse than the ones from last year. Last year her head was all distorted and looked larger than it should be and she had a big glare on her glasses I think. This year the glare was worse (it even caused a white spot on her hair) and there was some strange black spot by her head. She said it was from something they had behind them (maybe to help the kids align themselves?) The background color we selected was just hideous too. I don’t think it looked that bad in the sample nor did we realize how bad it would turn out with her outfit. Her bangs looked like someone tried to tease them or something - they certainly didn’t look any where near what I sent her to school looking like. So, I figured we’d probably just do the retakes. WELL, I came downstairs at one point about a week ago to find that Kyleigh was CUTTING some of the pictures. She had cut the 8×10 and cut up about 4 of the wallets on one of the sheets. To add to that, the sheet of small photos for sharing with friends was missing. I asked Alyssa later about it and she had gotten them out, cut them up and took them to school. (SO guess where Ky got the idea?). So..I couldn’t return them now, and I decided since last years were bad and this years, forget even doing retakes with this company, I’d just do them myself as it was about time (late actually) I did the girls 1/2 year pics anyway….
So last weekend I did some photos of the family and then a bunch of the girls. I finished editing the girl’s pictures today and ordered those and am almost done with a couple family ones.
So I really like the one above with Alyssa on the pink background - I love her smile in that one and how she’s sitting, but the brown background just works better with her shirt, and it’s the one that Eric and Alyssa both voted for, so that is the new school picture. These photos at the bottom I snapped when the girls were just playing, and I really looove how natural their smiles are and how cute those two turned out. Often those not posed ones are so much better.
I’ll share the family ones when I get those ready. I’ve been working on these, and wedding pics for both Anita and Catherine. I have to work on them a little while and then take a break because the longer I look at them the more I think they look off and need editing again. LOL
OOH Exciting news! I finally filled out the paperwork and registered my photography biz with the state and received my registration certificate the other day! I’m officially in business now. Now is the hard part though - finishing designing my website, getting business cards made and GETTING CUSTOMERS! lol
I need to head to bed, I know it’s a short post, but I am not feeling well and I’ve been up so late every night this week. It’s just starting to kick my butt. Eric’s been working 12 hours every day and we’re starting to just run on empty. He has tomorrow off to help me get ready for our Christmas party we’re throwing on Saturday, so tomorrow will be cleaning and cooking allll day.
