My baby girl is 3!
Today was Ky’s birthday. My sweet baby girl is now three years old already. Where oh where does the time go so quickly? She was so excited today, she came in the room this morning waking me up yelling “Mommy, mommy, I’m tree today, I’m tree!!”
We took her out to lunch at TGI Fridays (our usual birthday meal) rather than dinner since Eric had to work tonight. She told the waitress her birthday was today and she is now “tree” so she brought Ky a HUGE bowl of ice cream and the crew to sing. Of course, Kyleigh loved it. She was totally waiting for it, having watched Alyssa do the same thing just last month.
With Eric working this weekend, he was in high demand by both girls, so he sat on one side of the booth between the two of them and both of them had him helping color on each of their color sheets! It was so funny to watch him try to keep up with both girls’ demands.
After lunch we hurried home and let Kyleigh open her gift from us before Eric took off for work for the day. The rest of the day was just the usual thing.
oooh update on me. The nurse called Friday to tell me that the test was negative, as in I’m not pg. UM ok. I already figured that, so I asked her if they ran any other tests besides pregnancy. She said no. Oh brother…what a waist. So I asked her if my fibroids could be causing all these symptoms. She said, “hm, Well I’ll talk to the doctor again and get back to you later today.” So then she calls me in the afternoon to tell me the doctor would like to run some more blood work (why on earth didn’t they do this to start with?). So she said I could go in to the lab on Saturday between 9 and 6 and they’d get the results by Monday and call me. About 1:00 as we’re sitting down to eat lunch before Eric leaves for work, the jeweler calls to tell me my ring is ready and they close at 3. So, after we get Eric out the door for work, I packed up the girls, ran by the jeweler to get my ring (will show in a sec), and then ran to the lab. They closed at 12:30 and will open again Monday at 7 AM!. UGH…so…still don’t know anything and looks like it will be at least Tuesday now. I’m quite certain at this point it’s all hormone and/or fibroid related, so I don’t think they’re going to find anything in what they’re going to be testing for.
So..on to the ring news.
About 6 weeks ago I decided to take my wedding ring to be resized so it will fit again. I haven’t been able to wear it for about 2 1/2 years now. I’ve also for some time wanted to upgrade the size of the stones. I didn’t want to get a totally new ring, since I still like the design of my original ring, but I didn’t know what could really be done. I chatted with the jeweler there and we kicked around a few different options. I didn’t really want to take my main stone out and just have a loose stone that I have to do something with. We talked about getting another to match it and make earrings or making it into a necklace, or another ring or whatever, but not of those options really appealed to me. I wanted to be able to keep that diamond on the ring somehow. I really like the triple stone rings as well, but with a marquee and my current design, I didn’t really think that would be an option without changing it up quite a bit. So, then he suggested we take my main stone and put it on the side where I had 2 small (iiiity bitty) stones on each side and get another to match it for the other side, then replace the center stone with a bigger stone. Essentially, it would make my ring a little more than double the original size. So, I got my ring back on Saturday, and I toootally love it! I love how it looks and totally love that it’s the same design and includes my original diamond. OH, he also gave me back the 4 extra little diamonds that were taken out…OMG..they are so small you can barely seem them! It’s amazing how big they can make these little things look in a setting.
My original ring from a picture of our hands at our wedding almost 13 years ago now…
My new ring. The top stone in these pictures is my original middle stone.

Just checking up on you. I’ll be back tomorrow! I know everything will be OK. Your ring is beautiful. My ring hasn’t fit for several months now. Funny how that happens hu? Take care!

That ring is gorgeous, good work upgrading while keeping the original design. I had very thin bands on my original, so I had them mounted on a man’s plain gold band to thicken them so they could be attached to my anniversary band.
Now, the question is ….. what are you going to do with the other 4 stones?
