what a week
Quick post before I head to bed - it’s an early night for me because Eric is dorking around with my computer (so I’m on the laptop) and I have a GYN appt (finally, right? LOL) early in the morning.
Eric decided to build this new computer to use with our flat wide screen TV we bought several months ago. (I do have to admit that part is pretty cool and will come in very handy for showing customers their photo proofs - when I HAVE customers LOL). So, he decides this new computer is also going to be the new server (my computer currently serves as where we store all the documents and photos), and he said we needed to upgrade my HD because my 400 GB drive is getting a little full (this is JUST my scrapping HD). So, rather than put the new drive in my computer and transfer the files to it, he is transferring them over the network (quite a bit slower process). This afternoon he tells me he needs to shut down everything on my computer and start the transfer and that it will take about 3 or 4 hours, so I agree to let him begin about 4 so it can be done when we get home tonight about 8ish and I can work after the kids go to bed. Well…we got home at 8 and it was 20% complete! Yeah…no really working on my computer tonight unless I want to save everything I change to the desktop and then move all those changed files to the other computer tomorrow. Just as well, I was working on some things for Alyssa and now need to go to bed anyhow.
I thought last week was busy, but this week is as bad and maybe even worse. Yesterday, Eric and I went to the gym together in the morning (oh and I am sooo sore - I think I pushed myself a bit more than usual on the weights and I’m paying for it now). I got quite a bit of work done yesterday and then did all my normal mommy stuff after school, and Alyssa had piano. Not too bad of a day, since she just walks to piano lessons down the street.
Last night I stayed up late to finish a bunch of work, and then today I went to the gym again to walk the track. Then I ran home showered and got ready for Alyssa’s Blessing Cup ceremony tonight. Then finished up some GS work, ran and picked up Alyssa and her friend from singing lessons and took the friend home, came back and ate dinner as fast as we could, changed clothes and left for the ceremony. Once we were back home, got kids ready for bed and I’ve been trying to get Alyssa’s song she wrote for the GS bridging ceremony next week into sheet music. I d/l a free program Finale Notepad that allows me to insert all her notes and create the sheet music. It allows you to play it back again to hear if it sounds right. Very cool little program - it has some limitations, but for free it will work for what I need for now! We still have quite a bit more work to do on it, but it will have to wait till tomorrow.
Tomorrow..GYN appt in the morning for me, gym on the way home, play group for Ky, but we’ll probably miss it due to my appt, and then Ky has an appt in the afternoon (annual well child). After school I’ll have to help Alyssa finish her song.
Thursday, Alyssa has an eye appt at 8 and then a psychologist appt at 11, between appts we’ll run to the religious store so I can take back the veil she didn’t go with and pick up something else. Then we’ll get her back to school ASAP for lunch and some special classroom activities they’re doing in the afternoon. After school she has tumbling and I’ll do my work out while she’s in her class.
Friday Ky has tumbling and then the Parish festival starts. I guess we’ll probably find ourselves there for the evening.
Saturday morning we’re participating in the family 2 mile walk/ 5k run (we’re walking - I absolutely hate to run) and then probably doing a little more time at the festival. Alyssa has a birthday party that afternoon and then a sleep over and Eric has to work that night.
Sunday??? Well..probably Church and RECOVER and prepare for another busy week! I can’t wait for this month to be done and thing settle down.
So…I have lots more to share..we went to the air show over the weekend (Eric worked it for his reserve duty) and I spent 2 or 3 days veil shopping with Alyssa (thankfully we finally decided on something). I’ve got pictures, but can’t upload those right now while the files are all transferring….I’m sure I’ll get on here and share again sometime this week…..
off to bed for now though…
(hmmm that didn’t end up so quick huh? LOL)
