Recovery is going well
I’ve been sleeping a LOT and doing almost nothing now for sooo long. It’s hard to motivate myself to really get back into the groove and do things that I should be starting to pick up again. I haven’t really had a lot of pain. The pain meds did a pretty good job keeping that under control. I quit taking them a couple days after getting home because I just could never stay awake and I was finding myself nauseous and dizzy often. I used Motron or Tylenol to minimize the soreness from the bruising after I stopped the pain pills. I still have some soreness, mostly from the bruising now and some aching muscles probably from not being used as much as usual. I’m starting to stay awake more and more of the day and am down to only taking one nap a day now rather than almost all day! lol I saw the doctor on Friday for my post op follow-up and she said everything looks to be healing nicely and I can start driving again. I’m still a little hesitant to do much traveling at all in the car, let alone drive much, just because I can’t really wear the seatbelt properly yet. I’ll have to start driving a little this week though as I need to start taking Alyssa to and from her activities again. Dr said to still take it slow, no heavy lifting for a little longer and no working out for another 3 weeks. It’s amazing how much it takes out of you for your body to heal. It’s starting to kinda frustrate me because I feel like such a bum.
This weekend was the Pumpkin Festival, but unfortunately with my recovering, I didn’t get to really join in much of the festivities. Eric took the girls on Wednesday for the balloon release and bought a few tickets so they could each ride a couple rides. He said he got a couple shots of Ky on some rides, but I haven’t downloaded the memory card yet. Eric did take a few of my pictures over and enter them for me for the photography contest last weekend, but I didn’t win any prizes again this year. On Saturday my GS troop marched in the parade, and I drove the truck with the candy and supplies so I could be with them even though I couldn’t walk. Eric and one of our other leaders walked with the kids. Brenda took a bunch of pictures of the girls walking, but again those are on that same card I haven’t downloaded. After some lunch and naps, we headed over to the festival to pick up my pictures and took the girls to use the last of their tickets from Wednesday. It was raining the whole time and so muddy! Oh it was just plain nasty. I tried to get a couple shots of the girls on those last couple rides, but between the rain and trying to get my little camera to focus while they were moving so fast, I doubt any of them came out.
Today Alyssa was supposed to cheer her first JFL game, but due to all the rain we’ve had in the last couple of days, they canceled the game. They said the field was just completely soaked. So…we just hung out around the house, watched movies on TV, took a nap, and had a fairly lazy day.
I need to get myself in bed, so I can get enough sleep. Eric will be heading to North Carolina for a couple days in the morning, so I need to be rested to take on the household on my own.
Happy Birthday Janelle!! I wish I could be coming with Eric to visit too, but Eric will have a little gift for you from me.

i am glad your recovery is going well. it’s nice to hear you are doing hardly anything, i’m used to you up to your neck in things with late late nights so i’m glad to hear you are getting plenty of rest!
continue to take things slow, i know how it is to need to take things easy but one thing leads to another and before you know it, things are in full swing again-don’t do that!
