We’re having our first hard freeze ALREADY tonight! YIKES! We even had a few snow flurries today -ughhh I am SO not ready for winter. Who said it could come early? Sunday we attended the last football game Alyssa had to cheer for (yaaaaay! So glad that’s all over) and it was soo cold! The wind was just unbelievable. The news last night reported that we had gusts up to 50 mph! eeek.

As we were on our way home from the game we passed a house around the corner with a tree that had split and fallen from the wind. It just BARELY missed their house, but it fell on the power lines and took out our entire neighborhood’s electricity and cable. So..we returned home to no power and couldn’t get in the house. The garage wouldn’t work because of the power outage, back door was locked, and the front door still had the chain (we have chains on the front door and downstairs door so Ky can’t get out if she wakes up before us in the morning). So, Eric had to borrow a bolt cutter from the neighbor to cut the chain! LOL Anyhow..we hung around trying to get a few things done (though most of what I needed to do was on the computer - so much for that). Finally about 5 PM we gave in and went for a run to get some things at Target and went out for dinner. When we left, we saw the cable and electric company was just finally arriving to work on the lines, and when we got home about 7 the power was back. What an exciting day.

Before I went to bed last night, I finally decided to put together my October desktop with a few pics I took about a week ago of the girls at the farm with the pumpkins. I figured it was the last week of the month, so about time I get it together! LOL

Well with that… it’s after midnight, so it’s after my bedtime.  I’m making a real effort to try and get my tush in bed as close to midnight as I can this week EVERY NIGHT!
