Just a couple short things tonight as I HAVE to get a few things done before bed, and my goal is bedtime by 12:30 again tonight.

We said bye bye to one of our fish today.  We have two gold fish - one that’s actually gold and one kind of black.  Alyssa named them Julia and Claire, but Ky calls them Nemo and Bruce.  Well yesterday we noticed Nemo (Julia) kind of floating/swimming around sideways and somewhat cramming himself into little spaces near the bottom of the tank.  This morning we awoke to a floating fish.    I don’t think Kyleigh even saw him, but Alyssa did.  While Kyleigh and I were finishing our breakfast and Alyssa was supposed to be getting her shoes on to go, she was taking forever.  I asked her what she’d been doing and she said “holding Nemo for a few minutes to say goodbye.”  Poor thing…she actually took the fish OUT OF THE WATER and held it in her HANDS, but then rather than go ahead and flush him, she put the dead fish BACK in the tank! hahaha  I told her, if she was saying her good bye and taking him out anyhow..she might as well go ahead and flush him.  So she went back and got him out, held him and again and talked to him all the way to the bathroom.  Then she gently slid him off her hand and told him good bye and flushed.    Kyleigh never saw any of this, so I don’t know if she really even knows he’s gone yet.  We talked to daddy (dh) this afternoon and he promised Alyssa he’d take her Saturday when he’s home to get a new fish.  Maybe Kyleigh will never notice Nemo changed.

On a happier/lighter note…I found some loooovely treasures in the laundry the last couple of days.  The first was sooo gross!  I was taking a load of laundry, mostly sheets and blankets and clothing that had been peed on, out of the washer and wrapped up inside one of the blankets, I found a DIAPER!  ewwwwww  It must have been one that had been peed in and somehow got wrapped up with something Alyssa threw in the washer the other day.  I had to wash that load a few more times to get the urine smell out!  The other two items were just interesting, lovely things you find in kid’s pockets.  I found a balloon in another load coming out of the washer, and then a GLUE STICK in a load coming out of the DRYER!  Thankfully neither item did anything to the clothing, but I guess I should learn my lesson from all this to check pockets and such and not be in such a hurry to get 5 loads of laundry done! LOL

OH…I discovered bloglines the other day!  I know, I know…I’m behind the times and been living in a cave or under a rock, but I just finally went to check it out and I sooo totally LOVE IT!  I’ve been so bad about keeping up with reading blogs, and I even have a relatively short list of blogs I check right now, but now I get notifications when there’s new postings, and I can just go read those few posts and leave a comment!  WHOOHOOO I might be able to even start checking out some new blogs finally soon.    If you aren’t using bloglines or some other program or something or other to help you keep up with blog reading (if you are a blog reader), you should check this out!!!    bloglines.com

Well…with that..told ya it was short tonight…I’m heading to bed.  We’ve got Ky’s tumbling in the morning and another long day.  Dh will finally be home late tomorrow, so I’ve already told him the girls are ALL his Saturday and I’m sleeping in! lol
