Busy weekend
This weekend Eric actually had BOTH days off from work! These were his first days off in 3 weeks. His last days off was the weekend I went to South Carolina the first weekend of March. Before that I know he had some days off here and there but I think maybe only once did he have 2 days off in a row since we got back from Christmas vacation, and I think the only reason he had 2 days off some where in there was due to a snow day! sigh.. Poor Eric…I know he’s just as tired of this schedule as the girls and I am. He’s doing his best to find a new position so he can get more normal working hours, but it hasn’t happened yet.
{Alyssa’s Birthday Party}
So anyway, the reason he had off is because we had Alyssa’s birthday party on Saturday. We had her party at the ice skating rink here in town and 14 other little girls came. We had cake and ice cream, opened gifts and then everyone got to try iceskating. A few of the parents stayed with their kids and helped us with other kids with getting skates on and off and holding hands around the rink. All in all the kids had a great time and I was really impressed with how well they did skating. They even had skates Kyleigh’s size so we got her a pair too and she skated holding Erics or my hands and went around about 2 full laps before she’d had enough of it. She walked really well around the outside and on the carpet in the skates, balancing almost better than Eric and I, but once on the ice she wasn’t so sure about things. Her tiny skates were sooooo adorable. I wish I had gotten more pics, but it’s been 20 years since I was on ice skates and I just didn’t trust myself to take the camera out on the ice with me. I gave it one of the dads not skating and he took a few pictures.
{After the party}
On the way home from the party Alyssa called Nene to tell her about ice skating and her day (they had been talking earlier when Nene got a phone call and Alyssa didn’t get to call her back before the party), and then when we got home she called Grandma and Grandpa to tell them all about her day. I thought this picture of her on the phone with all her gifts (loot hehe) in the b/g was kinda of neat. Boy she has a lot of thank you cards to write now.
{Fun before bedtime}
Kyleigh got a couple pairs of new jammies this week too and was so proud of them. The girls were being silly before bed time and i had the camera taking a few shots.
{Trip to the Zoo}
I forgot to blog, I think, about our trip to the local zoo that we did a couple weeks ago. After Church a couple weeks ago we ate a quick lunch and headed to the zoo for a couple hours before Eric had to go to work. It was such a gorgeous weeked we just had to do something outdoors with the girls, and try to do something with daddy for the couple of hours we had him before he went to work. The zoo here isn’t all that big - we actually saw everything in about an hour, but we bought an annual membership so we could go back for other little day trips and because it then gives us free enterence to a ton of zoos all over the country. So this summer when we’re in FL or go to TX to visit, we can go to the zoos there, and we’re planning to go to Chicago or St. Louis for Ky’s birthday and taking her to the zoo in one of those cities. I think it should turn out to be a fun membership for us.
So, I’m liking my new blog, but I hate that I can’t get it to line things up correctly in the netscape browser. It’s all off and dorked up looking. 
I have to figure out what to do to fix that. I tried something new entering the pics today so we’ll see if it helps.
{Lazy Sunday}
Oh today, the weather was just awesome - in the 70s and finally dry. It’s been raining every day for almost a week now. After Church Eric took the girls outside to play while he did some work in the garage and I had some quiet time to myself. I didn’t do any work today, just hung out and took it easy. After lunch, when Ky went down for nap, I took Alyssa to a local scrap book store and we picked up some goodies for her friendship book we’ve been working on. I think we’re going to try and go to one of the crops soon - we’ll just get a babysitter one night for Ky so she and I can have some more special one on one time. When we got home Ky was up and we all went out for dinner at the Texas Road House. While we were waiting, we sat outside since the weather was so nice. Ky tripped and scrapped up her knee…poor kid she was so upset, and then while we’re eating dinner Ky picked up the steak nife and when Eric went to grab it from her his hand went around the blade part and she pulled it right as his hand closed. He got the worst cut had blood all over. ewww We had to have the waitor bring us bandaids and then we went to pick up some butterfly bandaids and such afterwords on the way home because Eric thinks it might be deep enough to need stitches. He’s waiting till the morning to see how it is. What a fun dinner huh? LOL
Ok well, I think that’s about it for our weekend… Alyssa has tomorrow off so she’ll get to hang out with daddy some in the morning before he goes to work, and I’ll need to get busy on a bunch of work I have due next week. Alyssa has Tae Kwon Do tomorrow night, so we’ll be busy in the evening still as usual. Eric and I got off with our gym work out after I missed a few days with my trip to SC, and then Ky was sick, and then I was feeling crappy…maybe we’ll get our butts back over there this week.
